This means really much to me because it, in my eyes contains some of my best works. “Glance” is one of them.

Beside “Glance” the EP contains a different (balanced) version of “The Hum”, the “Soul Minimal Interpretation 1″ + one unnamed bonus track, an edit followers like you might know. I feel really really blessed about this release and want to thank Chez for the opportunity and efforts as well as everybody out there following my music.

I am happy about everybody spreading the word for this…

Time I needed, because my intention was also, to think about a good path for Motivic Records in 2011.

After some really bad experiences with our former pressingplant and a big load of work with this matter, I had to sort my personal preferences, because my own music for the first time fell by the wayside.

There are currently tons of music-projects I cannot handle beside the label. I enjoy producing to the fullest and dont want to loose focus and I think every musician who runs a label has to be aware of this issue.

So in consultation with Steve and Discjackson, its time for me to have a longer break from the administrative side of business.

We keep you posted with news from the Motivic artists, because new projects on other platforms from Steve Frisco and Discjackson are coming! For updates about my own work, check out my website.

Lots of work to do these days, especially with repressing Motivic releases.

I managed to press MTVC001 + MTVC002 so far. I am really satisfied with the second one, after I had to switch the pressing plant after some minor mistakes on MTVC001.

MTVC001 is still available and limited to a first run of 200 + 100 for the second pressing. Glad that it seems that people love the result. This gives me the security, that my personal stakes are high enough for all lovers out there who still buy vinyl. Although I am not totally satisfied with the first run. (Dont have the second run of MTVC001 so far)

The Test of MTVC002 from the new pressing plant sounds great, the 180g pressing underlines the quality of Discjacksons music on it. Releasedate will be in July I guess, I will get the final product soon.

After all, the Vinyl releases are just some sort of materialistic manifestation of the hard work behind the label. This satisfaction, in my eyes, is needed when you do something crazy like a small underground label.

The administrative work behind that still is really a mess. Especially when you expect absolute professional workflows from the instances you are working with.
This is not always to be sure.

Thats why I want to say THANK YOU to the organizations Motivic is working together with.

The work on MTVC006 is in progress, or better said almost finished, but I am still facing some organizing problems. Thats why I cant guarantee a release-date by now.

May it be in June or July, thats the reason why I wont publish any official schedules from now on, I promise! 8))) Not to forget the fact that the intention to launch Motivic was simply to act more spontaneous. Sometimes it works, sometimes not as I realize these days.

Not the easiest thing to handle a label beside my day-job and my own music.

His thoughts on the release:
Nine notes make this one a must-have. “The Hum” kicks off with a luscious jazz-styled phrase – “Followed by a never-ending hum” – and you will find it impossible to get this line out of your head.

“The Hum” is built entirely around this hook, with a combination of jackin’ and downtempo beats and a psychedelic guitar strum that just rolls on and on. It’s an odd combination – so sparse that it really sounds like a sample rather than an original vocal, and almost like a Jackin’ House producer decided to remake a classic ‘90s Strictly Rhythm track from scratch and without a map.

The remix by 2h4y is weirder – some kind of tribal and tech combo that for some perverse reason abandons the hook and throws a ton of acid over it. Not sure I get this remix at all – they use only a trace amount of the original’s DNA, and it’s not the best part.
